What Is Nadakacheri CV, and How to Verify a Certificate?

CV stands for Certificate Verification. The Nadakacheri CV module allows anyone, the applicant, an employer, a bank, or a government officer, to verify whether a Nadakacheri-issued certificate is genuine.

The verification portal is at ajsk.karnataka.gov.in/nkcv/. Every certificate issued through Nadakacheri carries an RD Number, a unique reference number printed on the certificate and sent via SMS at the time of issuance.

  2. Enter the RD Number printed on the certificate

  3. Enter the 4-digit CAPTCHA security code displayed on screen

  4. Click 'Show Certificate Details'

The Nadakacheri CV app is the mobile version of the portal, available on both Android (Google Play Store) and iOS (App Store). Search for 'Nadakacheri CV' in either store to download it.

The app supports all major services applying for certificates, tracking application status, and downloading approved certificates. Login is via mobile number and OTP, the same credentials used on the desktop portal.

A Family Tree Certificate, officially called Vamsha Vriksha Pramana Patra (ವಂಶ ವೃಕ್ಷ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರ) in Kannada, is an official document issued by the Revenue Department of Karnataka.

It maps your family's lineage across generations, listing names, relationships, dates of birth, and dates of death for all family members. It is issued and signed by the Tahsildar or a designated Revenue Officer after field verification.

Step-by-Step: Applying for a Family Tree Certificate on Nadakacheri

Step 1: Visit the Nadakacheri portal

Go to nadakacheri.karnataka.gov.in. Click on 'Online Application' in the top navigation bar. From the dropdown, select 'Apply Online'.

Step 2: Log in with your mobile number

You will be redirected to the AJSK login page. Enter your 10-digit mobile number and click 'Get OTP'. Enter the OTP received on your mobile and click 'Login'. No pre-registration is required the OTP login is your access.

Step 3: Select New Request

After logging in, the AJSK portal home page opens. Click on 'New Request' in the left-side menu or top navigation.

Step 4: Navigate to Family Tree Certificate

Under New Request, you will see service categories. Click on 'General Certificates'. From the list that appears, select 'Family Tree Certificate' (listed as 'Attestation of Family Tree' in some portal versions).

Step 5: Read the instructions and click Continue

The portal shows a list of required documents and instructions before the form opens. Read carefully. Confirm that all your documents are ready. Click 'Continue' to proceed to the application form.

Step 6: Fill in the application form

The Family Tree application form asks for:

  • Applicant's name (as per Aadhaar)

  • Applicant's Aadhaar number and mobile number

  • Address, village/ward, hobli, taluk, district

  • Name and details of the deceased or family head

  • Names and relationships of all family members to be included

  • Date of death (if applicable)

  • Purpose of the certificate

  • Preferred language of the certificate (Kannada or English)

  • Mode of delivery, Nadakacheri centre collection or registered post

Note: Enter all names exactly as they appear on Aadhaar. Spelling differences between the form and the uploaded Aadhaar are the most common reason for rejection. For deceased members, use the name as on their death certificate.

Step 7: Upload required documents

Upload all documents as PDF files under 2 MB each. The upload section has separate fields for each document type. After uploading, click 'Save'.

The system generates an Acknowledgement Number and sends it to your registered mobile via SMS. Save this number, you will need it to check the status and download the certificate.

Step 8: Complete Aadhaar e-sign

After saving, the system asks for an Aadhaar-based e-signature to authenticate the application. Enter your Aadhaar number and click 'Send OTP'. Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile. Click 'e-Sign' to authenticate.

Note: Your mobile number must be linked to Aadhaar for this step. If not linked, you cannot complete e-sign online. Visit the nearest AJSK centre for offline submission in that case.

Step 9: Pay the application fee

After e-sign, click 'Pay Fee'. The application fee for the Family Tree Certificate is ₹25 plus applicable payment gateway charges. Pay via UPI, net banking, debit card, or credit card.

After successful payment, a final confirmation is shown, and the application is submitted to the concerned Hobli Revenue Department official for processing.

Step 10: Track your application status

  • Go to nadakacheri.karnataka.gov.in

  • Online Application 'Application Status'. 

  • Enter your Acknowledgement Number and captcha. 

  • Click 'Get Status'. 

The system shows the current stage:

  1. Under Process - Application received. The Revenue Officer has it for verification.

  2. Field Enquiry Initiated - Revenue officer or Village Accountant is conducting local verification.

  3. Approved / Ready for Download - Certificate is issued. You can download it now.

  4. Rejected - Application not accepted,  reason mentioned. Correct and reapply.

Step 11: Download the Family Tree Certificate

  1. Go to Online Application  'Print Certificate'

  2. Enter your Acknowledgement Number 

  3. Download the digitally signed PDF.

The downloaded certificate bears the digital signature of the Tahsildar or issuing Revenue Officer. It is valid at BBMP, Sub-Registrar's offices, banks, courts, and all government departments.

The downloaded certificate is ready. Verify it using the RD number at ajsk.karnataka.gov.in/nkcv/ before submitting to any authority.
